1. I am a delegate/alternate; can I register myself?   

   1. No. Delegates cannot register themselves. Only compliant units and state conferences will receive the registration link. Please contact your unit or state conference secretary to register if you are a delegate. Your unit or state conference Secretary should use this document here for instructions.

2. I am a delegate/alternate. Can I register as an observer? 

   1. No. Only the unit or state conference secretary can register delegates. Please contact your unit or state conference secretary to register, or see here for instructions.

3. I am a Unit or State Conference Secretary. How do I register my delegates and alternates?  

   Only nationally compliant units and state conferences can register delegates. Secretaries of nationally compliant state conferences and units will receive an email inviting them to register their delegates. Delegates and alternates must be active members.  The email will come from NAACP Registration – NAACPConvention@conferencedirect.com

4.  Can delegates vote virtually?

   1. No, all voting is in person this year.   

5. How can I confirm my compliance status?   

   1. Please login to the member portal to see your compliance status or email NAACP membership services at membershipservices@naacpnet.org.    

6. What is national compliance for State Conferences and Units?  

   1. National compliance consists of Member Compliance and Financial Compliance. 

7. What is Unit national compliance? 

   1. Unit Membership compliance consists of meeting the minimum number of members by April 15, 2023.  

      1. Adult units must have 50 active members by April 15  

      2. Youth units must have 25 active members by April 15  

      3. Unit Financial compliance consists of submitting the Annual Financial Report by May 31, 2023.  

8. What is State Conference national compliance?  

   1. National compliance consists of member compliance and financial compliance. For 2023, membership compliance consists of meeting the minimum number of members by April 15.  

      1. Adult state conferences must have six (6) membership-compliant adult and youth units by April 15.  

      2. Youth state conferences must have six (6) membership complaint units by April 15 

For 2023, financial compliance consists of submitting the Annual Financial Report and :

1. Adult state conferences must submit their Annual Financial Report (AFR) by May 31.  

2. Youth state conferences must submit their Annual Financial Report (AFR) by May 31.

1. What are the registration rates for convention?

   1. Please visit https://naacp.org/convention/registration  

2. What is the advance registration deadline? 

   1. Advance registration ends July 27, 2023.  

3. If a person is not a delegate, what rate do they pay? 

   1. Non-delegates/alternates must register at the observer registration rate.  

4. If a state conference or a unit is non-compliant, can they attend the National Convention? 

   1. Yes! Please register as an observer/general public attendee.  

5. The registration system doesn't recognize me or my delegate. What should I do? 

   1. Please use the name and email associated with your membership to get started. If you do not know the email address on file or have questions regarding your membership status, contact our Membership Department at membershipservices@naacpnet.org, or call (410) 580-5777.  

   2. If your membership is inactive, please renew your membership before registering delegates.  

6. I did not receive the email to register my delegates. What should I do?  

   1. If you did not receive an email, that means one or more of the following statements are true:  

      1. Your state conference or unit is compliant and the invitation to register delegates and alternates is in your spam/junk folder.  

      2. Your state conference or unit is compliant, but we do not have the correct information on file. Please email or call NAACP membership services by emailing memberservices@naacpnet.org; or calling (410) 580-5777.

      3. The unit or state conference is not nationally compliant. Please confirm your compliance status with NAACP membership by emailing memberservices@naacpnet.org; or calling (410) 580-5777.  

      4. The current secretary is not listed in the Member Portal. Please review your unit leadership in your member portal. To update your unit leadership, please complete an Officer Update Form or contact membershipservices@naacpnet.org or call (410) 580-5777.    

7. Do you need a code to register delegates?   

   1. No. Delegate registration does not require a code. The link to register was sent to the compliant unit and state conference secretaries listed in the member portal.     

8. Can my state conference or unit attend the National Convention if we are not compliant? 

   1. Yes, register as an observer.  

ADA/Dietary Restrictions

1. I do not know the dietary restrictions or accessibility/ADA needs of my group. What do I do?

Ticketed Events

1. When will I receive my registration packet?   

   1. We do not have registration packets this year. However, all information for the Convention is listed on the convention website, www.naacp.org/convention.  

2. How do we pay for ticketed events? How much are registration packages?  

   1. We do not offer registration packages. Please pay for ticketed events during the registration process.   

3. Where do I get my tickets?  

   1. Your tickets will be printed onsite w/ your badge. Please do not lose your ticket. This is your access to the event.  

4. What is the last day to buy Spingarn tickets? 

   1. Advance sales for Spingarn end July 9 at 11:59 PM PT.  

   2. Spingarn will have open seating unless you buy a table. Tables will have 8 seats. 

5. What payment methods are accepted?  

   1. Payment can be made via eCheck/ACH and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover) in advance and onsite in Boston.   

6. What is the cancellation policy? 

   1. Registration cancellation requests can be emailed to NAACPConvention@conferencedirect.com and will be accepted until July 1, 2023. Fees paid will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. Refunds will be made via the original payment method. No refunds after July 1, 2023. No refunds will be processed during National Convention. Refunds will be processed four (4) - Six (6) weeks post-convention. 

7. What is the contact information for the registration company?

Waivers 

• All attendees of the National Convention must acknowledge and agree to all waivers. If you are registering a group, the attendee confirmation will be in pending status until the waivers are approved.   
• All attendees must agree to their own convention waivers, parent or legal guardian for attendees 17 and under.

1. How do you make reservations for the National Convention?

   2. If you need access to the youth hotel, please register your youth delegates or observers for the link.  

2. Is a deposit required for reservations? 

   1. Yes. Please provide a valid credit card to hold your reservation. Credit cards MUST expire after the date of the event. Approximately 30 days prior to the star event, the HOTEL, NOT ONPEAK can charge your credit card a deposit equal to two night's room and tax. Reservation(s) not guaranteed are subject to cancellation. 

3. What is the cut-off date for reservations?  

   1. July 10, 2023 

4. How do I reserve a suite? 

   1. Please email NAACPhotels@onpeak.com for the suite reservation form.  

5. Are ADA rooms available?

6. What is the Youth & College hotel? 

   1. The Aloft Boston Seaport District is the Youth and College hotel for the 114th National Convention. 

   2. Reservations at the Aloft Boston Seaport District are available in the youth registration process only.  

7. What hotels will have a shuttle from the hotels to the convention center?  

   1. Only the official convention hotels (Seaport Hotel Boston, Aloft Boston Seaport District, Element Boston Seaport District, Hampton Inn by Hilton Boston Seaport District, Homewood Suites by Hilton) will have ADA (mobility) shuttles to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.  

   2. The Boston Park Plaza will have shuttles to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. 

Everyone attending ACT-SO, the Convention, participating in a convention event, or visiting The Hub (NAACP Experience/ exhibit hall) MUST be registered. A badge or ticket is required to participate in all convention events. 

1. What are the COVID-19 protocols for Convention?    

   1. Based on current COVID-19 trends, the Department of Health and Human Services plans to lift the Presidential Declaration of a National Public Health Emergency arising from the COVID-19 pandemic on May 11, 2023. Therefore, COVID-19 will no longer be considered a national health emergency. We will continue to monitor trends and act accordingly based on Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance. 2. Your health and safety remain our top priority while attending the NAACP Convention and all NAACP events. COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are strongly recommended. The Association still follows exposure guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control, linked here.

3. NAACP recommends that all attendees be fully vaccinated in accordance with the CDC guidelines. Boosters are strongly recommended but are not required.  

4. Wearing facial coverings throughout 114th National Convention is also strongly recommended but is not required.   

5. If you become ill before attending the convention, please stay home and contact your healthcare provider for the safety and well-being of yourself and others. If you feel ill on-site, please self-isolate immediately and contact your healthcare provider.  Should you need a medical professional, we will have EMTs on-site at the convention center who can attend to your medical needs.

   1. ACT-SO stands for Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics. Every year high school students showcase their skills and talents in visual arts and business to performing and culinary arts.  For more information, visit the ACT-SO website by clicking here.    

2. Do you have to register for the convention to attend ACT-SO? 

   1. No, however, we encourage you to register and attend both. 

3. What dates are regional meetings taking place?

   1. Regional Meetings are taking place Sunday, July 30, and Monday, July 31.
