Environmental injustice systematically impacts communities of color and low-income communities throughout the United States. Think food deserts, transportation inequity, and communities of people being exposed to and negatively impacted by harmful toxins. This place-based injustice requires powerful, placed-based tools, strategies and solutions. Join us as we discuss how tools, like GIS (Geographic Information System), bring understanding and relevant context to empower impactful decision-making and positive change in Environmental Climate Justice and beyond.

The road to economic stability, sustainability, and prosperity requires policies that protect the rights of working people, promote a true, livable wage for families, and center racial equity to build a more inclusive, equitable society. Join us for an intimate fireside chat with Mr. William Spriggs, Chief Economist at the AFL-CIO, where we'll take a deep dive into the policies that work, strategies to move them forward, and how local units can connect to their local AFL-CIO affiliated unions and state federations.

Communities throughout the nation are exploring and deploying alternatives to policing, such as crisis units that deploy mental health professionals as first responders and civilian traffic response units that remove police from routine traffic enforcement, to reduce contact with law enforcement and ensure the safety of their community. Join us for a conversation with Ngozi Ndulue, Deputy Director of Death Penalty Information Center, and NAACP Duluth Branch President Classie Dudley as we highlight innovative, out-of-the-box approaches to alternative public safety models and strategies to mobilize and implement them in real time.

Over the past year, politicians and thinktanks have advanced anti-Critical Race Theory (CRT) legislation to disrupt efforts to create diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice in public schools. This session will feature civil rights advocates and activists who are actively fighting anti-CRT legislation at the local, state and national levels. The session will also discuss NAACP's local and national strategies to promote racial justice in education through scholar activism, leadership, and civic engagement.
