Brooks Brantly is an award-winning, classically trained actor, coach and martial artist with over 17 years of professional experience performing, writing, directing, and teaching for the stage and screen. Most recent credits include the Pulitzer Prize winning play SWEAT, The Golderbergs on ABC, and the comedy pilot Besties on the Free Form television network.

Immediately upon receiving his B.A. in drama from Morehouse College, Brantly became an established casting associate at the Tony Award winning Alliance Theatre in Atlanta Georgia. During his time there, he also became the very first recipient of the Kenny Lean Directing Fellowship. In 2011, Brooks moved on to earn his MFA in acting at the University of Connecticut where he also worked as a resident company member of Connecticut Repertory Theatre. While training, Brooks also had the opportunity to work as the teaching assistant. for both graduate and undergraduate stage combat courses. He also had the privilege of being one of the few actors to be invited to the Guthrie Experience training program to train under Ken Washington at the renowned Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, MN. 

Brantly was nominated for an LA Ovation award for hit production FLY which went on to win the NAACP Theatre Award for Best Show. Brantly was cast in the 2017 ABC Diversity Showcase for which he received a holding contract from the network to move to Los Angeles for his first LA pilot season. From Broadway to Hollywood, Brantly has worn many hats, played many roles, and eagerly looks forward to seeing what else this journey has yet to reveal.
