Montrel McKay currently serves as the President of Development & Production at Hoorae Media (fka Issa Rae Productions). In this role, McKay manages and oversees the content slate for the company in both television and feature film.

Prior to joining Hoorae, McKay served as Senior Vice President of Apex Entertainment Ventures, a subsidiary of Publics Groupe, the world's second-largest ad agency holding company. In that role, McKay oversaw Publicis Groupe's foray into original content investment across North America. McKay also served as Vice President of Development at Electus where he was responsible for developing digital, hybrid and traditional television programs. While at Electus, McKay developed series for broadcast, cable and streaming platforms, and oversaw the development of over $20mm in original digital series.

McKay began his entertainment career at talent agency WME in their Global Finance and Distribution group (now Endeavor Content). While at WME, he helped to establish non-traditional content distribution strategies for the agency's clients and managed third-party partnerships across multiple content verticals. McKay is a graduate of Morehouse College and
Harvard Law School.
