Taren grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, she spent the following years in Madison, Wisconsin working as an executive at Target Corporation and a college advisor at her alma mater until moving to Los Angeles, California in 2019. In LA, she interned at ABC Studios and Shondaland at the show, How to Get Away with Murder. After her internship, she worked for the NAACP Image Awards and in the drama development department at HBO Max. She has recently worked on an unreleased Apple TV Drama and currently works as a Showrunner's Assistant at NBC Universal. Taren is finishing up negotiations on her first YA dramedy which is in development at a world-renowned studio.
