
Submitting National Resolutions for Consideration by the National Convention

The Resolutions Process
A resolution submitted to the NAACP Resolutions Committee is a formal request of the NAACP's Annual Convention to change or amend the programs or policies of the NAACP or to establish new policies. The resolution submitted for consideration should be written clearly, concisely, and specifically. The substance should be well-researched and must have been approved by a majority vote of the sponsoring Unit.
Please note that hard copies (not faxed copies or electronic copies) of all Resolutions must be received by the President and CEO in his office in the National Headquarters of the NAACP no later than close of business, 5:30 p.m. eastern time, on Monday, May 1, 2023 in order to be considered by the Resolutions Committee and to be ratified by the National Board of Directors at the October 2023 Board of Directors' meeting. Please note that all Resolutions must have the original signature of the unit President and the unit Secretary.

It is strongly recommended that all Resolutions be sent via Certified Mail or other tracking methods in which you can receive a return receipt with the signature of the individual upon delivery.
