Florida: Unsafe for Black Americans
Black Lives Can't Thrive in Florida
Let's be clear.
Florida has a goal to erase Black history and restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in Florida schools. Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals, and it's time for us to send a clear message to Governor DeSantis:
We won't stand for this kind of hate-inspired leadership.
Florida is a state that clearly devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced, by Black Americans and other marginalized groups.
From failing to teach an accurate representation of the horrors and inequalities that Black Americans have faced to denying basic human rights to women, we must continue to call out Governor Ron DeSantis on his deliberate assault on Black Americans and our history.
Sign our petition to join in this fight to protect ourselves and our democracy.
Under the leadership of Governor Desantis, the state of Florida has become hostile to Black Americans and in direct conflict with the democratic ideals that our union was founded upon.
