The Tennessee Comptroller has attempted to take financial control of the majority Black, west Tennessee community located just under 5 miles from the site of a future $5.6 billion Ford Motor Company plant.
Because of the efforts and awareness of NAACP Tennessee State Conference President Gloria Sweet-Love and our Office of the General Counsel led by Janette McCarthy-Wallace, we have filed a lawsuit to protect the residents from the authority and racially-discriminated attacks against the community in its financial dealings.
We need your support to reinforce that what occurs in one Black community affects all Black communities, and we will not stand by and let anyone undermine and seize what is rightfully ours.
Tell Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery III to do the right thing and protect the town of Mason, Tennessee.
