NAACP Condemns Texas Leadership After Blatant Act of Cruelty Over the Holiday Weekend

Governor Abbott, who quoted the Bible this Christmas while abandoning innocent children in below freezing temperatures, is continuing to prioritize his twisted version of politics above human lives. Any leader who toys around with the lives of human beings, using those in need as pawns in their sick game of chess, cannot remain in office. Governors Abbott and DeSantis, and others who have engaged in these cruel stunts, are a danger to our country, our values and the human rights of all.

We must do better as a nation and outwardly condemn such acts of blatant cruelty and injustice. Instances such as this show a clear abuse of authority.
