NAACP President and CEO, Derrick Johnson, Releases Statement on U.S. Senate's Failure to Advance the For the People Act

NAACP Staff and Leadership Marching - Styled Hero

"The fight to preserve American democracy is a fight to preserve our most fundamental, sacred right--the right to vote. Our democracy sustained a direct assault today when the Senate failed to move critical legislation that protects and advances voting rights, the For the People Act. One thing is clear, if our vote didn't matter, they wouldn't be trying to suppress it. We will continue to fight for voting rights until everyone is allowed to participate in our democracy."
