NAACP Releases Statement on the Passing of Former U.S. Senator and Majority Leader Harry Reid

The NAACP mourns the passing of former U.S. Senator Harry Reid, a champion of historic legislative agendas and longtime high-ranking member of the senate's leadership. An unyielding advocate for the American people, Reid used his power in Congress to pass law-making behemoths like the Affordable Care Act, Dodd-Frank Act, and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

He will be remembered for his strong resolve in the face of tumultuous times and his swift action as the senate majority leader during his eight culminating years in Congress. The NAACP sends our condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones at this time.
