WASHINGTON  — Today, the NAACP announced a new partnership with Kensington Grey to drive voter turnout and safeguard voting rights in one of the most critical elections in history. Through this partnership, the talent agency's creators will emphasize the importance of voting and urge their followers to make their voices heard.

"The median age of Black America is 32 years old" said Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP"This is the first time we've launched an influencer campaign on such a large scale because we need to reach Black voters of all ages, especially those who get their news from Instagram and TikTok. The stakes for this election are higher than ever, and with the help of Kensington Grey's creators, we'll be able to reach more members of our community to turn out the Black vote. Our future depends on it."

With less than 50 days until the election, the NAACP and Kensington Grey creators will create engaging social media content, public service announcements (PSAs), and on-the-ground mobilization efforts to encourage civic engagement and voting up and down the ballot.

"Our creators are powerful voices, especially in underrepresented communities, and this partnership with the NAACP gives them a chance to influence meaningful change," said Shannae Ingleton Smith, President and CEO of Kensington Grey. "We are honored to join forces with the NAACP in this critical moment for democracy. Through our collaboration, we aim to inspire millions to take action and vote, ensuring that every voice is heard and protected."

Featured talent includes Zerina Akers, Emmy award-winning costume designer; and Chrissy B., plus size, lifestyle, and confidence content creator, among others. Creators are expected to begin posting content ahead of National Black Voter Day on Friday, September 20.

This partnership is the latest development in NAACP's civic engagement and voter protection programs to mobilize 14.5 million voters in November. For more information or to volunteer to turn out the vote, visit naacp.org/vote

About NAACP

The NAACP advocates, agitates, and litigates for the civil rights due to Black America. Our legacy is built on the foundation of grassroots activism by the biggest civil rights pioneers of the 20th century and is sustained by 21st-century activists. From classrooms and courtrooms to city halls and Congress, our network of members across the country works to secure the social and political power that will end race-based discrimination. That work is rooted in racial equity, civic engagement, and supportive policies and institutions for all marginalized people. We are committed to a world without racism where Black people enjoy equitable opportunities in thriving communities.

NOTE: The Legal Defense Fund – also referred to as the NAACP-LDF - was founded in 1940 as a part of the NAACP, but now operates as a completely separate entity.
