Abigail Masters is a devoted advocate, creative leader, and proud New York native dedicated to advancing equity for youth. As an organizer committed to social justice, she uplifts and expands opportunities for young people through civic engagement, community organizing, and public policy initiatives. Abigail is a student at St. John's University currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Africana Studies.

Her journey with the NAACP commenced during her freshman year at St. John's where she was appointed Community Service Chair in 2022 and elected President of the St. John's University NAACP Chapter in 2023. During her two consecutive terms as President, Abigail spearheaded student engagement and civic action within her campus and surrounding community.

She is a proud member of the NAACP Youth & College Fired Up 2024 Cohort, where she applied grassroots organizing and relational engagement strategies to design and execute youth-centered GOTV efforts.

In 2024, Abigail was appointed to the NAACP National Youth Work Committee, where she went on to chair both the Voting Task Force and the Mental Health Task Force. She now serves as chair of the Field Relations Task Force and the Health Subcommittee, leveraging these roles to uplift youth voices and drive strategic change. She also serves as a Youth Ambassador Board Member on The Steve Fund, where she advances mental-health equity and leads initiatives that center the well-being of young people of color.

Abigail's leadership bridges local organizing and national advocacy, grounded in a commitment to accountability, access, and intentional support for youth. Equally committed to shaping public policy, she examines and addresses structural barriers through the lens of political psychology, ensuring the psychological dimensions of policy impact are understood and advanced within her communities. Within the NAACP, she uses her platform to champion mental-health equity and parity reform, educational accessibility, and civic participation that strengthens mobilization and empowers the agency of Black youth. In every sphere, Abigail leads with passion, warmth, clear purpose, and the conviction that the voice of our generation's youth is not future tense, it is present power.
