Born in Houston Tx, raised between Dallas and Lubbock, Calon Mask-Oats is a graduate student at Morgan State University working to attain his PhD in Mathematics Education. He serves as the National Adult Representative for Region VI (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico) on the NAACP National Youth Work Committee. He is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Calon's journey in the NAACP began in the Youth and College Division at Texas Southern University, where he served as multiple committee chairs, Vp, two term President, and Advisor while earning two bachelors (2019) and his masters (2022). In 2020 he went on to serve as the Region VI Adult Rep for the NYWC, serving as the chair of the subcommittee on education, the vice chair of advocacy & policy subcommittee, and eventually the Vice Chair of the NYWC. During his time in the NAACP, he has focused his efforts on equitable education, voting rights, and the economic uplift of minority communities.

Beyond the NAACP, Calon channels his passion for education and mentorship working as a teacher and educational administrator in various schools in the Houston area. He believes that through his interaction with each student, he helps them become the best version of theirselves, whatever that means for them. His interests include, sports, sneakers, and music, which he uses to connect the content he teaches to his students' lives experiences.
