Bylaws for Units

More than 2,200 NAACP units are working across the country to end racial discrimination. Each unit is governed by the Constitution of the NAACP and the Bylaws for Units.

Bylaws include:

• Name and jurisdiction of units
• Objectives and organization structure for units
• Leadership elections and removals
• Membership

Summary of Changes 

The proposed amendments to the Bylaws and Constitution were adopted effective January 1, 2025. The following memorandum provides a brief summary and rationale behind each proposed amendment approved by the National Board of Directors.
