Shelby County Voter Activation 5

What do volunteers do?

All volunteers will receive a lists of less frequent voters or lists of other volunteers. Volunteers will use the NAACP scripts to door knock and call potential voters.

Please note: All volunteer and volunteer support roles have been assigned. If you have not received a text message indicating you are a volunteer for this program, please join one of our bi-weekly activations to make calls to voters.

These scripts will help you have conversations with volunteers until Election Day.

Best Practices for Volunteers

  • Remember your "why".
  • Always acknowledge the person you are calling is also an NAACP volunteer.
  • Start the conversation off with a check-in. Don't jump straight into "Are you planning to vote?".
  • Always identify yourself as a volunteer with the NAACP.
  • Smile while you dial.
  • If you don't know the answer, be truthful and say you will get an answer and follow up.
  • The best times to call are Monday-Friday from 6 pm - 9 pm, and Saturday & Sunday from 10 am - 1 pm.
