WASHINGTON – Today, the NAACP announced that the 114th National Convention will feature The Hub, an immersive experience celebrating Black culture and promoting social impact. Free and open to the public, the Hub will take place at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, starting on July 28, 2023.

Attendees will be able to support Black-owned brands at the Retail Lab, hear from leading voices on topics such as building wealth, entrepreneurship, and mental wellness on the Hub Spotlight stage.

Among several activities , attendees can get health checks from health care providers, connect with companies at the Career Summit, experience Glow Garden, an innovative installation from students across the country, stop by Game Central, and step backstage at the NAACP Image Awards.

"The Hub is more than another event, it's a tribute to the brilliance and resilience of the Black community." said NAACP Chief of Marketing and Communications, Aba Blankson. "This vibrant space seamlessly blends art, culture, sports, entertainment, and technology, designed to spark the connections and conversations that inspire and fuel the power of imagination."

The Hub begins on Friday, July 28th with Boston's very own Mayor Michelle Wu set to take the stage and kick things off. Keeping the momentum alive, DJ Jazzy Jeff will take the spotlight, igniting the atmosphere with energy and setting the tone for an unforgettable experience at The Hub. A few other notable speakers include actor Marcus Scribner, artist Nikkolas Smith, journalist and influencer Elaine Welteroth and football legend Ryan Mundy

We would like to thank each of the following key sponsors who help make the National Convention possible: Bain Capital, MassMutual, State Street, Sanofi, Boston Building Trades, Boston Medical Center, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Delta Airlines, and Verizon.

The NAACP advocates, agitates, and litigates for the civil rights due to Black America. Our legacy is built on the foundation of grassroots activism by the biggest civil rights pioneers of the 20th century and is sustained by 21st century activists. From classrooms and courtrooms to city halls and Congress, our network of members across the country works to secure the social and political power that will end race-based discrimination. That work is rooted in racial equity, civic engagement, and supportive policies and institutions for all marginalized people. We are committed to a world without racism where Black people enjoy equitable opportunities in thriving communities.

NOTE: The Legal Defense Fund – also referred to as the NAACP-LDF - was founded in 1940 as a part of the NAACP, but now operates as a completely separate entity.
