LAS VEGAS - The NAACP and Lancôme are continuing their partnership by announcing that again, 40 young women participating in the NAACP's Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) competition will be awarded by Lancôme's "Write Your Future" scholarship program. Since 2021, Lancôme has provided a scholarship grant and mentoring program for young women aiming to empower them to pursue a collegiate education with self-assurance and abundant opportunities for learning and career development. The "Write Your Future" Scholarship Fund builds on the brand's global commitment to empower women by supporting them in their pursuit of educational and mentorship opportunities and participation in entrepreneurship courses.
"The NAACP is thrilled to partner with Lancôme once again as we continue our joint commitment to empowering young Black women pursuing their dreams and harnessing their inherent power," said NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson. "This partnership is reflective of our continued work to expand opportunities and support for young Black women, ensuring that their full potential is realized. We recognize their exceptional talent and limitless potential, and it is our responsibility to ensure they receive the resources they deserve to be all in on their mark in this world."
This year, 40 scholarships of $10,000 each were awarded to young women who shared their talents in STEM and business as well as visual, performing and culinary arts during the annual ACT-SO competition at the 115th NAACP National Convention in Las Vegas. These scholarships and other awards were presented during the NAACP National Convention main stage by NAACP Chief Strategy Officer Yumeka Rushing.
