NAACP and BET Announce Date for the 56th NAACP Image Awards

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

LOS ANGELES (June 6, 2024) – The NAACP and BET announced today that the "56th NAACP Image Awards'' will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Pasadena, Calif.  The televised ceremony will air LIVE on BET.  Key deadlines and dates have also been released for the celebration of excellence in the categories of motion picture, television + streaming, recording, literature, and podcasts.

Submissions for nomination consideration will open Monday, August 26, 2024.   The performance or project cannot be used from a previously released project that would have qualified in a previous year (i.e. a rebroadcast performance, a performance in a released film being rebroadcast, or a remix of a song or album from a previous year or reprint of a released book).  All entries must be received by Friday, November 8, 2024 at www.naacpimageawards.netNominations for the "56th NAACP Image Awards" will be announced Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Only submitted work will be reviewed for consideration. All entries are evaluated and narrowed to the top five in each category by members of the NAACP Image Awards Nominating Committees which are comprised of individuals within the entertainment industry (studio/network executives, actors, artists, managers, agents, publicists, journalists, literary agents, and others) NAACP Board members, NAACP Foundation Trustees, staff, partners and others.

Globally recognized as one of the most distinguished multicultural award shows, the "56th NAACP Image Awards" will continue its tradition of excellence, uplifting values that inspire equality, justice, and progressive change, and highlighting artists committed to these values.

One of the most iconic annual celebrations of Black excellence, the NAACP Image Awards draws the biggest and brightest stars in Hollywood. Previous years' attendees and winners include Usher, New Edition, Fantasia Barrino, Angela Bassett, Zendaya, Cortney B. Vance, Will Smith, Viola Davis, Beyoncé, Nicco Annan, Ruth E.
