Under his leadership, Whitehead, in partnership with GSSA Data Analytics Firm, directed the launch of the Building Community Voice Fund, granting more than $12.5 million to NAACP units and Black- and Brown-led organizations focused on voter registration, education, and turnout. His ability to drive large-scale, results-oriented campaigns has solidified his reputation as a national leader in movement-building.

"It is an incredible honor to step into this role at the NAACP — the largest and most prestigious social justice organization that continues to lead the charge for civil rights," said Dominik Whitehead, NAACP Chief of Field, Membership Growth and Unit Sustainability. "I've dedicated my career to organizing our people, building power from the ground up, and ensuring that our voices are heard. As we confront the challenges of today and prepare for the opportunities of tomorrow, I remain committed to mobilizing our communities, protecting our democracy, and creating lasting change for Black America."

Before joining the NAACP, Whitehead served as a Political Action Representative at the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), where he led political campaigns focused on electing leaders who champion working families. A veteran of multiple high-impact electoral and advocacy campaigns, Whitehead has held leadership roles in statewide and presidential campaigns in Florida, Michigan, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and beyond.

Dominik Whitehead joins the executive c-suite, where he is now poised to deepen the NAACP's reach in communities nationwide, mobilizing power for transformative change and civic engagement in 2025 and beyond.
