The NAACP released the following statement applauding Becky Pringle as the newly elected President of the National Education Association (NEA).

"Becky Pringle has been an exceptional leader, teacher, and advocate for scholars, families, and educators since the onset of her career. Her advocacy and unwavering protection of students have been a driving force for her to combat institutional racism and educational injustice. The moment and time we find ourselves living through calls for a diligent and thoughtful leader like Becky Pringle. As she takes the helm of the nation's largest union representing 3 million educators, Becky's 31-year career has well-positioned her to help schools and communities hardest hit during this unprecedented time.

A lifetime member of the NAACP, we commend Becky Pringle on her accession to President and look forward to the extraordinary trail she will blaze for educators everywhere."
