NAACP National Convention

Covid-19 Protocols

Your health and safety are a priority for us as we gather together for the first time in two years. Therefore, for the safety of everyone in attendance, the following protocols have been implemented by NAACP.

Everyone attending the Convention, participating in a convention event, or visiting the NAACP Experience (exhibit hall) MUST be registered. A badge is required to participate in all convention events.  All attendees must be fully vaccinated to attend.

Fully Vaccinated Status

Individuals are considered fully vaccinated:

  • Two weeks after receiving their second dose in a two-dose series for the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines; or

  • Two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

  • Boosters are encouraged but NOT REQUIRED.

Before or upon arrival at the Atlantic City Convention Center, all attendees, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, vendors, and staff will be required to show proof of vaccination or provide your vaccination status to attend. Instructions on uploading your vaccination card will be sent in your convention registration email.

Face masks must be worn at all times unless you are eating or drinking.

Medical suites will be at the Atlantic City Convention Center and Tropicana hotel. The suites will handle medical emergencies and offer COVID testing should one feel unwell.

Pre, Onsite, and Post Convention Testing & Quarantine Requirements

NAACP refers to CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of our attendees and staff. In addition, all convention attendees and staff must adhere to the following COVID-19 precautions relative to their vaccination status:

Pre-Convention (Know Before You Go)

  • Registrants are encouraged to get tested and know their status before arriving in Atlantic City, NJ.

  • Any person exhibiting symptoms, who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, or who has interacted with someone with COVID-19 should stay home.

  • If any of the above scenarios apply to you, please join us virtually for the Convention. Contact our registration department at NAACPConvention@conferencedirect.com to change your registration type from in-person to virtual. Refunds will be issued to individuals who cannot attend due to COVID-19.

While Onsite, if you Develop Symptoms

  • You will not be permitted to attend any in-person events. You must isolate immediately and follow the CDC, federal, the state of New Jersey, and Atlantic City public health protocols.

  • In-person registration includes access to our virtual platform. Therefore, please participate in the Convention virtually while you are ill.

Post-Convention

  • Monitor yourself for symptoms.

  • Take a COVID-19 test if you feel ill.

NAACP will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic and implement or adjust the appropriate health and safety protocols accordingly. Please note that these protocols are subject to change.
